We visited this place many years ago it was bought out and ran for a few years but the owners didnt want to carry on with it and decided to close to build new housing
History of Shirehorse Centre
as part of the National Shire Horse Centre UK Plymouth Shirehorse Centre Opened in 1978 This was a major tourist attraction within the South Hams with over 400,000 visitors per year using the facility during its peak years.
The SHC closed in 2000 and was used for various purposes including airsoft and the film Holy Water was filmed here as well.
More Recently the site has been taken over and is being used in the hope of reviving the Shire Horse Centre as a Tourist Atrraction again
